Notes:

"You shall not murder" - The Hebrew Bible makes a distinction between murdering and killing, and explicitly notes that murder is always a heinous sin, while killing is sometimes necessary, and in these cases just in the eyes of God. Thus, Jews take offense at translations which state "Thou shall not kill", which Jews hold to be immoral.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
The dividing and numbering of the Commandments have varied in the course of history. The present catechism follows the division of the Commandments established by St. Augustine, which has become traditional in the Catholic Church. It is also that of the Lutheran confessions. The Greek Orthodox worked out a slightly different division, which is found in the Orthodox Churches and Reformed communities.

The Catholic Catechism states it uses the Augustinian grouping because it is traditional, not because it is the only interpretation. The Church teaches, it is not necessarily the correct one. Catholics thus have liberty of conscience in determining which division of the Commandments they like best. There is nothing written anywhere that shows or proves the charge that the Church is trying to "hide" or "remove" any of the Ten Commandments. The Church is only trying to make them easier to memorize which helps the people to learn and them better.
