Matthew 6:9-13 - After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive
our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.
This week’s
Sermon is Part Two of Four on Universalism:
Before moving
on to our discussion on Universalism is we need to know just what Satan’s designs/desires are for mankind.
Bottom line Satan wants to destroy all of mankind by having them die in their
sins; it’s true the short and simple of it is he wants everyone to spend eternity in hell. Satan is the ultimate
entity of pure evil and hatred and he will use any means available to turn anyone from the Holy Trinity. Do not take
him lightly because he is extremely cunning with a vast intelligence and he is using universalism to weaken mankind’s
needs for trusting in Christ for salvation. What a perfect tool; a cult where the followers not only deny the Holy Trinity
but also the Deity of Christ because in their (Universalist) mind it does not matter. According to them when the non-believers
come before the Judgment Seat and realize that God is real all that they need to do is repent to be saved.
I find their way of thinking very strange because this means that even Satan who
has known and acknowledged God and Jesus since the beginning of time – all he has to do is repent and he enters Heaven.
Think about this in a more resent activity – the moment Ben Laden was killed – he appeared before the Judgment
Seat and saw Jesus there and no Mohammad or 87 virgins waiting him. At that very moment, yes at that very moment he realized
that the Christians were right and he is going to Hell. But wait! Don’t count old Ben Ladin out yet because according
to the Universalists he only needs to acknowledge God and Christ and openly repent to spend eternity in Heaven. Think about
it – no matter how many you kill, maim, mutilate, or even send to the gas chambers; in the end it does not matter –
you’re on your way to Heaven via a little stop over to say “Oops I was wrong God does exist, sorry God forget
everything I ever did and send me on my way to heaven.”
Come on, let’s get real behind all this deception is Satan; who is saying “Don’t worry,
don’t sweat the small stuff, you automatically get a second chance at the Judgment Seat. However, this is quite contrary
to what Christ says in:
2nd Corinthians 6:2 - (For he saith, I have heard thee in
a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day
of salvation.)
Hebrews 4:7 - Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in
David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
However through all of this deception
we do have a friend in Jesus; who works constantly to save us. But that leads to another question just what is Jesus saving
us from?
Is it Jesus’ mission to
save us from our thoughts, actions, temperament, or perhaps our sins, or is He just trying to save us from ourselves? You
may be surprised but He is not trying to save us from any of those things, He already knows you will sin again and again;
it’s human nature. His mission is to intercede just likes a big brother between God the Father and us because He knows
that all sin is an abomination to God and must be punished. Our Heavenly Father is a wrathful God and He will have His due
justice for our sinfulness. Throughout the Holy Scriptures we are constantly reminded there is a consequence to being a sinner:
God punishes the sinner “judgment”.
Hosea 8:13 –
They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and
[eat it;] but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to
Egypt. - Hosea 9:9 - They
have deeply corrupted [themselves,] as in the days of Gibeah: [therefore] he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their
sins.
If you are foolish enough to reject Jesus then you have no interceder between you and the Father’s
wrath; you will surely die in your sins.
John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Jesus is going to save all those that receive Him from the
wrath of God.
John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Romans 8:1 - [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Luke 3:7 - Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of
him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Unlike the Universalist – Jesus does warn us about eternal
hell.
Matthew 5:22 -
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry
with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be
in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 5:29-30
- And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck
it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole
body should be cast into hell. And
if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should
perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Matthew 23:33
- Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how
can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Mark 9:45 - And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to
enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Luke 12:5 - But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power
to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Christ spoke far more about hell than He did of heaven. He does not want you to go to that place of torment.
That is why He said -
Matthew 18:8 - Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast [them]
from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into
everlasting fire.
If we are to believe the Universalist then Jesus is nothing but a liar because there is no hell, there
is nothing to worry about when we die; because we are all going to heaven and spend eternity with a God that shows no wrath
against those that have sinned. They are dead wrong, hell is real and those that follow these false teachers are going to
spend eternity in hell.
Does this mean that we should all live in fear or does it signify that we should use it as our motive to
be saved, no - the Bible tells us in Proverbs.
Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy [is]
understanding.
Up to this point I have taken you to the truth of what the Holy Bible actually states, Satan’s motives,
and what Christ does to protect us and His warnings of what is the truth about eternity. Deviating from the Biblical Truth
is forbidden and those that do preach false doctrine are to be avoided and expelled from the church. If the body of the church
has been subjugated to the false doctrine and refuses to remove the false teacher then it is the Christian’s duty to
remove themselves and their family from this house of iniquity.
